Puerto Rican Vietnam War veteran Jorge Otero Barreto, widely known as the "Puerto Rican Rambo" for his extraordinary combat record, will be inducted posthumously into the U.S. Veterans Hall of Fame in 2027, nearly two years after his death.
The announcement was made Wednesday by retired U.S. Army Col. Arnaldo Claudio, a fellow Puerto Rican veteran and longtime advocate for recognizing Hispanic service members. According to Claudio, the honor acknowledges Otero Barreto's battlefield heroism and decades of dedication to fellow veterans after returning home.
