Pubs and bars showing Nottingham Forest v Huddersfield Town Championship play-off final on Sky TV

It's one of the hottest tickets in the UK, and there are plenty of places to catch the big game in Nottinghamshire if fans are not able to grab a ticket. Pubs and bars across Nottinghamshire will welcome punters on Sunday (May 29) for the Championship play-off final between Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town at Wembley.

Around 40,000 Forest fans are expected to make the trip to the capital to watch the action live. Pubs and bars across the county have already experienced high demand, too - including The Boot Room, right next to The City Ground in Pavilion Road.

Owner Mark James said: "There's standing room only now, all the tables have been booked and we'll be expecting to be busy from 2pmish ahead of a 4.30pm kick-off. There's been a real buzz for the past four or five days, the queues outside the ticket office opposite us have snaked all the way around the car park inside the ground.

"I've seen lots of happy people holding tickets. We had a group of guys in the bar recently who stayed local to queue at 4.30am in the morning for tickets. Here, we'll be welcoming everyone."

The Trent Navigation Inn, on Meadow Lane, is another local pub that's experienced a high level of demand. They have a similar situation to The Boot Room.

Manager Sam Ditchfield said: "It's difficult to say how many exactly we're going to have down here but all the tables inside are fully booked. There is plenty of space for walk-ins, though."

Nottingham Forest are understood not to be considering showing the game at The City Ground. An Nottingham City Council confirmed the authority had no plans to screen the game in Old Market Square or turn it into a fanzone.
