A further 7,258 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland – with the disease sadly claiming another 16 lives.
Data published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland show there are currently 1,302 patients with Covid in Scottish hospitals, which is down 17 from yesterday.
There are currently 32 people being treated with the disease in ICUs across the nation.
The new fatalities which have been recorded within the last 24 hours mean Scotland's death toll now stands at 10,291.
However, 12,823 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, January 23 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.
Meanwhile, there are 99 patients with Covid in Ayrshire hospitals – down seven from yesterday and the lowest number since January 2 – while fewer than five people are being treated with the illness in the region's intensive care units.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Aberdeen City has the highest rate in the country – at 594.2 as of Thursday, January 27.
Falkirk has the second-highest infection rate at 579.2 while Dundee City is third with 564.4.
In terms of Ayrshire's three local authorities, South Ayrshire has the highest rate of 430.7; East Ayrshire's rate stands at 418.6 while North Ayrshire's is 400.
Of the 240 positive PCR cases reported in Ayrshire, 89 were in East Ayrshire with 86 in North Ayrshire and 65 in South Ayrshire.
