The PSVR 2 is the new VR headset for the PS5, and it's packed with next-gen features that'll make the most of Sony's current-gen hardware.
The original PSVR launched in 2016 for the PS4, and while it may not be a household staple, it was a commercial success. We're already past the five million units milestone, according to a 2020 report from Sony, which has laid the path for a more powerful successor designed for the PS5.
The PSVR2 price and release date were confirmed at the start of November, and we're looking at an early 2023 launch. The headset costs more than the PS5 itself, which might sound a bit outrageous given the console's price. But let's not forget that this was the case with the last generation – and with the upgraded hardware (and ever-inflating prices) it's not a complete surprise.
