PSV vs Arsenal prediction for Europa League clash as Mikel Arteta without four players

Arsenal travel across the North Sea to Southern Holland to face PSV Eindhoven on Thursday night, having beaten the Eredivisie side at the Emirates Stadium 1-0 last week.

Granit Xhaka's excellent winner saw the Gunners extend their 100% start to their Europa League campaign and they will look to seal top spot in the group and qualification to the second knockout round after securing their progress out of the group stage with a win against the one-time European Cup winners on Thursday.

Arsenal could be without young star Marquinhos, with the Brazilian having missed training alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko on Tuesday. Mikel Arteta will also be without long-term absentees Emile Smith-Rowe and Mohamed Elneny for the fixture at the Philips Stadion.

Arsenal will have a very close fixture against PSV here, according to ABC News statistics site FiveThirtyEight. They have been given a 39% chance of emerging victorious from the match, with their hosts having been given a 37% chance of beating their opponent.

However, Arsenal are backed strongly to win the competition overall, being the second ranked team in the overall table of teams based on their likelihood of lifting the illustrious trophy in May. Barcelona look almost certain to finish third in their Champions League and drop down into the second tier of European competition and have been handed a 24% chance.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have been backed with a 14% chance of winning the tournament and are rated ahead of fellow Premier League side Manchester United, who have been given a 6% chance.
