Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is on the verge of completing a loan move to PSV - with only a medical to be completed before he is an official member of the first-team squad.
The 20-year-old was not included in the Blues' 32-man squad that flew out to America on Monday as a precaution due to sickness and now looks set to test himself abroad for the 2022/23 season by sealing a temporary switch to operate in the Eredivisie.
The ECHO confirmed on Tuesday PSV’s interest in Branthwaite was genuine and the Dutch side have now issued a statement stating transfer talks are now 'in the final phase', with the youngster currently in Eindhoven to complete his medical. Once this process has been finalised, a player presentation will follow.

PSV released an image of Branthwaite wearing a club shirt to accompany their update regarding their pursuit of the defender while adding he is in attendance for the club's friendly match versus Villarreal this evening. Provided the English centre-back passes the remaining relevant checks, he will be reunited with ex-Everton director of football Marcel Brands at the club. Brands left his role at Goodison Park in December and will assume the position of general manager at PSV during the coming campaign.
Branthwaite joined Everton from League Two club Carlisle United in 2020 and made six Premier League appearances last season. His first top-flight start in 2021/22 arrived away at Chelsea, in which he completed the full 90 minutes and got on the scoresheet as the Toffees earned a point at Stamford Bridge.
