Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner, Alessia Elefante, had their home burglarized in Paris early on Friday morning, according to a report from ESPN.
Four people broke into Donnarumma’s and Elefante’s home around 3 a.m. local time, according to La Parisien newspaper. Both Donnarumma and Elefante were tied up in the home but escaped to a nearby hotel around 3:30 a.m., and police were contacted. Both Donnarumma and Elefante were treated at a local hospital for shock, and the PSG star also was treated for minor injuries. Elefante was unharmed other than the shock from the incident.
“A police investigation has been opened for armed robbery in an organized gang and aggravated violence following the incidents that happened overnight at Mr. Donnarumma’s flat,” the prosecutor’s office told ESPN.
The robbers took over $550,000 worth of jewelry, luxury bags and watches.
Donnarumma is the latest member of PSG to have his home robbed. Several other current or former players have had their homes burglarized recently, according to ESPN, including Thiago Silva, Angel Di Maria, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Presnel Kimpembe and Mauro Icardi.
