Former Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after the club’s dramatic Champions League exit to Real Madrid, according to fresh reports.
Wijnaldum was previously a virtual ever-present for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds but has faced a challenge to hold down a regular starting berth at the French side.
This was best illustrated on Wednesday night as the 31-year-old remained on the bench as PSG crashed out of the Champions League despite manager Mauricio Pochettino having only used three of his five substitutions.

Wijnaldum had taken up the same role in the first leg against Real Madrid.
And French outlet L’Equipe has now claimed that Paris are hoping to find the Holland international a new club just a year after signing from Liverpool.
The report, a translated by Sport Witness , states that the “acknowledgement of failure is shared” between both Wijnaldum and the club over the move not going to plan.
The ex-Red joined PSG on a free transfer as part of a high-profile recruitment drive, which included the arrivals of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi.
However, it now appears that Wijnaldum will be part of yet another overhaul after Paris once again failed to get their hands on the elusive Champions League trophy.
L’Equipe claims that PSG are hopeful of moving the midfielder to the Premier League, where it is thought that he “still has market value”, although there is no suggestion of a return to Anfield.
Despite Pochettino’s refusal to call upon Wijnaldum in midweek, the player's most memorable moments in a Liverpool shirt came in the Champions League.
Proving himself to be the right man for the big occasion , he came off the bench to score twice in Liverpool’s famous 4-0 win over Barcelona in the 2019 Champions League semi-final.
A consistent performer throughout his time on Merseyside, he missed just 11 league games combined across five seasons.
Compared with his current fortunes at PSG, Wijnaldum has already missed five Ligue 1 games this season, with eight of 22 appearances coming as a substitute.
