Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier believes Kylian Mbappe wants to stay at the club but was less clear when discussing the future of Lionel Messi.
Mbappe signed a new three-year contract at the Parc des Princes earlier this year. Recent reports have claimed that he wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January, as his future was once again thrust into the limelight last month.
Mbappe's eye-watering contract details were leaked as the French champions posted recorded losses of £317million for their most recent set of accounts. It is the latest problem for the striker at the Parc des Princes, as it comes amid his ongoing reported feud with attacking teammate Neymar.
Mbappe and Neymar fell out over the order of penalty-takers earlier this season in a Ligue 1 clash as the fractious relationship between the two came to light. Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was reportedly forced to step in to separate the feuding pair and boss Christophe Galtier staged a first-team meeting in which the two were rebuked.
Mbappe initially refused to commit his future to PSG following suggestions of an exit. "For now, a second World Cup," the France international recently said when quizzed on his alleged transfer request. "After that, I don't know." However, Galtier has now moved to calm concerns.
The PSG boss told Marca : "If a player is happy in a place there's no reason why he has to leave. To be happy you need to enjoy yourself. Once a player starts to enjoy himself on the pitch and feels that he is in a team that can win and achieve great challenges, there's no reason to leave.

"I don't think it (Mbappe's new contract) was down to money. All the world-class players whether it's in Spain, England or France earn it. They are not there for the money. I think it's simply that Kylian loves PSG."
Galtier then responded when asked if Mbappe was happy at the Parc des Princes and with his teammates: "Yes. I'm certain. Guaranteed. If he is happy why wouldn't Kylian be here next season?"
The PSG boss was more coy when asked about the future of Messi, who is out of contract at the end of the current campaign. The Argentine superstar will celebrate his 36 th birthday this summer and may be thinking about the final stage of his top-level career.
Galtier said when asked if Messi was likely to renew at PSG: "There are many parameters. The first thing is his desire. Does he want to continue at PSG? Is he happy here? The first thing to know is if he wants to continue."
