The Public Service Commission (PSC) will on April 16 issue notification for 500 beat officer posts to be filled from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category exclusively as part of a special recruitment. Jobseekers from all districts, except Alappuzha, can apply.
Though SSLC is the required qualification, in the absence of enough candidates with this qualification, those who have completed SSLC or required courses will be considered.
In addition to the special recruitment, appointments are being done for those presently working as daily-wages workers in the Forest department. Priority will be given to unwed mothers and children of unwed mothers, and widows. The application has to be submitted online through the PSC website. Those who do not already have a profile can carry out a one-time registration and create a profile.
The required documents must be submitted along with the application. Applicants have to produce a certificate from the respective Range Forest Officer to prove that they are presently residing in forest regions and with their livelihood connected to the forest.
Those currently working as daily-wages workers in the Forest department are required to submit the document to prove the same. Depending on the number of applicants, the preliminary examination, if required, will be held in August. The rank list will be published after a physical fitness test and interview.
