£5000 fee to stand as Scottish Labour leader blasted as ‘scam’ by ex-MSP

THE £5000 fee that candidates standing to be the next Scottish Labour leader must pay to enter the contest has been branded a “scam” by a former MSP.

First revealed by ITV, the charge is an increase on the £3000 cost for the 2021 election which saw Anas Sarwar prevail.
