Sony is facing renewed resistance from the PlayStation 5 jailbreaking community after an unofficial storefront offering more than 1,600 free PlayStation 4 and PS5 games vanished, only for replacement repositories to appear within hours amid a wider backlash over digital ownership and online access.
The storefront, called Overdrive, reportedly appeared on cloud-based web hosting platform GitHub on 9 October. It gained widespread attention after jailbreak tutorial creator Edigax demonstrated it on X on 12 October, with the video reportedly attracting more than 7.9 million views.
