The London Renter’s Union (LRU) has announced a ‘day of action’ in six London boroughs on December 3, as the renting crisis in the capital remains critical.
The campaign group called for a Scotland-style emergency rent freeze as private tenants were reported rent hikes of more than £3,000 since September 2022, a 20 per cent average increase. Many were facing rent rises of 50 per cent or even more, the LRU said.
