Over 100 protesters gathered at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for an anti-Israel demonstration on Wednesday evening. The demonstration saw around 60 protesters holding signs with messages such as 'We deserve respect' and 'No unjust discipline' outside the encampment. Later in the evening, a group of approximately 130 individuals listened to speakers outside the encampment.
Earlier in the day, pro-Israel demonstrators assembled near the encampment area and voiced their disapproval by shouting 'Shame!' at the agitators. They also criticized MIT faculty for permitting the encampment to take place.
As tensions escalated, some Israel supporters breached the encampment fence and began dancing while playing music. Police intervened by waving the group away and maintaining a standby presence. In response, anti-Israel protesters later symbolically marked Israeli flags with red handprints, representing blood.
