Three protesters have been arrested after spraying red paint and locking themselves together at an insurance company headquarters in central London

The demonstrators from People Against Genocide have been held on suspicion of criminal damage following the protest at Chubb Insurance on Leadenhall Street in the City of London this morning.

A City of London Police spokesperson said: "Three women have been arrested for criminal damage at a building on Fenchurch Street. Red paint has been sprayed onto the outside of the property.

"The protesters locked themselves together outside of the building. Officers have safely released them and have brought them into custody."

People Against Genocide released a statement to say that it is targeting Chubb Insurance because it includes UAV Engines as a client, which is a subsidiary of Israel-based defence firm Elbit Systems.

A spokesperson for the group said: "The blood-red paint sprayed on Chubb's offices today is a reminder that they are profiting from the slaughter in Gaza, by helping to facilitate the manufacture of engines for Israel's murderous drones.

"Only direct action can slow down this deadly production, and ultimately bring it to an end."
