The group posted: “The Government says they're taking no action on the cost of living until October's Budget.
“We can't afford to wait that long.
“Workers, students, pensioners, lone parents, unemployed people and everyone suffering from the cost of living crisis: Unite and we can force action from the Government.
“National Protest on Cost of Living 1:00pm Saturday June 18, Parnell Square Dublin.”
Yesterday, at the press launch of the protest, Richard Boyd Barrett from People Before Profit said: “We’re calling for workers, students, pensioners, people with disabilities, people on low incomes who are crucified by the cost of living crisis to come together and demand serious government action.
“We’re one of the wealthiest countries in the world but can’t afford to pay the bills, pay the rent, pay the college fees, pay transport costs, pay for childcare. We need to build a coalition on the streets to demand action.
"The cost of living has gotten absolutely out of control, we need your help to demand action for ordinary people like you and yours."
Meanwhile, Claire Kerrane from Sinn Fein said: “The cost of living coalition came together once again just outside Leinster House to make our calls and our demands clear to the government.
“We’re sending a very clear message that people cannot wait until October for further cost of living measures."
