Penrith are poised to retain prop Matt Eisenhuth, with the front-rower agreeing to extend his stay with the NRL premiers.
Eisenhuth is one of a small number of Panthers still off contract a week before the new NRL financial year begins on November 1.
The oldest member of Penrith's squad at 30, Eisenhuth played 16 games in the Panthers' premiership charge before being left out during the finals series.
Despite missing out, the front-rower made clear after Penrith's grand final win he wanted to stay at the club, and he has now verbally agreed to a new deal.
"I love being at this club, I love the group of players, I love the coaching staff," Eisenhuth told AAP earlier this month.
"Why would you want to leave a club that's going so well at all levels?"
The news comes after Penrith signed Jack Cogger to a one-year deal on Monday, effectively replacing Dolphins-bound Sean O'Sullivan as back-up half.
Fellow playmaker Jaeman Salmon has also been offered a new deal, however that remains with his management and a decision is yet to be made on whether he will stay.
Young half Kurt Falls, who debuted during the State of Origin period earlier this year, will not be retained and is likely to end up at a Sydney rival on a train-and-trial deal.
Winger Christian Crichton - the brother of star centre Stephen - has also not been offered a new contract.
The Penrith group are among about 30 NRL players whose contracts are due to expire next Monday without complete certainty around their future.
