SAN FRANCISCO — In early returns from Tuesday’s recall election, beleaguered District Attorney Chesa Boudin appeared to be on the brink of losing his job.
San Francisco voters whose ballots had been tallied as of 9 p.m. Tuesday heavily leaned toward ousting the 41-year-old from the office he has held since January 2020, with 61% supporting the recall. The San Francisco Chronicle called the election Tuesday night.
The bitter, expensive recall election has become a referendum on some of San Francisco’s most painfully visible social problems, including homelessness, property crime and drug addiction.
