Production of millets, milk and fish takes a bow in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: While the state ranks second in organic farming after Madhya Pradesh and its horticulture too is booming, the declined production of millets --- jowar, bajra, ragi --- in Maharashtra has sent the healthy-eating community worrying.

The finding in the state's economic survey released on Wednesday assumed significance in the backdrop of the UN and India announcing 2023 as the international year of millets.
