Producer says Huw Edwards’ messages were like seeing ‘heart of darkness’

The executive producer on the upcoming drama Power: The Downfall of Huw Edwards has said that seeing the disgraced broadcaster’s text messages were like “going into the heart of darkness.”

The drama, which starts Martin Clunes, tells the story of how Edwards – at one point, the most respected broadcaster in the UK, entrusted with breaking the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II – ended up being charged with three counts of possessing indecent images of children. He was ultimately sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years.
