Eagle-eyed Conor McGregor fans noticed the Dubliner was wearing his belt upside down in recent pictures from one of his plush nights out.
The former two-weight UFC champion is known for his stylish outfits when he hits the town in Dublin, and showed off a more subtle grey Tom Ford suit and Rolex watch in an Instagram post. But some fans picked up that in one picture of his outfit showed him wearing his belt the wrong way around.
McGregor's belt alone appears to be worth in the region of €900, while the entire outfit likely cost him thousands. He had previously posted in an Instagram video that he was on a brief getaway with fiancee Dee Devlin in the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland, telling fans he was on a date night in Inis Mor, reports The Mirror.
In the caption for his picture, McGregor wrote "And this the motherf***in' thanks I get ? Only buzzin, thanks," with a love heart and a shamrock emoji. Some fans commented about his wardrobe malfunction, saying "That belt buckle upside down tho," and "Bro's belt is upside down."
Others noted the cost of just a belt from Tom Ford, with one writing: "Why are those belts like $900 though? Like, really? WTF?" Another believed it was funny that the Irishman had encountered a "lefty problem" and one laughed adding "I love how the Tom Ford belt is upside down."
McGregor is currently in training for a return to the octagon, and believes that serious talks will begin for a comeback date next month when he re-enters the USADA drug testing pool. It is unknown as yet if he will be given an exemption to the usual six-month timeframe that most fighters must adhere to or if he will need to wait half-a-year after already sitting out for two years injured.
Last time out, he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in a trilogy bout, and he has spent his time away from the cage training while packing on weight in an effort to make a permanent move to welterweight. He has already won gold at lightweight and featherweight, where he started in the UFC and Cage Warriors, and wants to win gold in an unprecedented third division.
However, he will face tough competition at 170lb, and will likely be welcomed back to the promotion by the former Bellator champion Michael Chandler. In the meantime, current champion Leon Edwards will defend his world title in March against Kamaru Usman in a trilogy bout at the O2 Arena in London.
