A crime scene has been established in the Queensland town of Crows Nest, north of Toowoomba, after a woman's body was found at a residence on Monday.
The 61-year-old's body was found shortly before 2pm.
Police say they are waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine the woman's cause of death and are exploring all avenues in their investigations.
State Emergency Services volunteers are assisting in a search of the area.
