MORE than 100 pro-independence campaigners gathered on the Isle of Arran on Saturday to embark on a "sail for freedom", adorning ferries from Ardrossan and Troon with flags and banners.
They then gathered on the island for a piper-led march before a community evening featuring live music, activities like a small ceilidh, and speeches.
The rally was organised to be a "high-visibility mobilization and cultural gathering travelling across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran", bringing together pro-independence voices from various coastal communities.
Campaigners travelled in from several areas across Scotland to join the event, including from Fife, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The grassroots campaign was crowdfunded in order to book venues and organise staging and sound equipment. By the date of the sailing more than £1200 had been raised.
Photos and videos from the day show the crowd waving saltires and 'Yes' flags alongside pro-Palestine and pro-EU banners and flags.
Other displays featured criticism of the Westminster government, calling on the end of London rule.
The rally was organised as a community and family-friendly event, with children seen draped in Saltires while other members wore Scottish-themed cowboy hats or Highland-cow inspired headwear.
