The jets that flew Boris Johnson and Liz Truss to visit the Queen in Scotland produced enough emissions for "about 70 car trips from London to Glasgow", according to a report. Mr Johnson and the new Prime Minister Ms Truss flew separately on private planes to see the Queen at Balmoral on Tuesday morning.
The former Prime Minister left RAF Northolt with his wife Carrie to Aberdeen, after giving his farewell speech outside 10 Downing Street in London. It has also emerged that Liz Truss flew to the historic meeting as well.
Due to heavy fog disrupting flights coming into land at Aberdeen Airport, Ms Truss was forced to circle nearby as she was delayed by almost half an hour. Meanwhile, Mr Johnson managed to make it to the airport in 59 minutes despite thick mist setting in around the airport.
