US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has made a statement regarding the recent Key Bridge cargo ship crash, emphasizing that if private companies are found responsible for the incident, they will be held accountable. Buttigieg stated, 'To be clear: if any private party is responsible and accountable for this, then they will be held accountable.'

However, Buttigieg also highlighted the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the need to take immediate action. He stated, 'But we can’t wait for that to play out to get to work right now.'
