The Princess of Wales will be hosting her annual Christmas carol concert on December 6 at Westminster Abbey, with a theme centered around the importance of unity and support during challenging times, as announced by Kensington Palace. This will mark her fourth 'Together at Christmas' carol service, which will be broadcast in the United Kingdom on Christmas Eve.
In 2021, the princess initiated this festive tradition with a piano performance of 'For Those Who Can’t Be Here' alongside Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker, acknowledging the impact of the pandemic. Aligned with the Royal Foundation charity, this year's concert aims to spotlight individuals from various regions of the UK who have demonstrated love, kindness, and empathy within their communities.
Approximately 1,600 individuals, recognized for their dedication to assisting those in need, will gather at Westminster Abbey, joined by members of the royal family and other notable personalities. The event will feature carols sung by the Westminster Abbey choir and musical performances by artists such as Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean, Gregory Porter, and young talents from Restore the Music.
In addition to the main concert, fifteen 'Together at Christmas' community carol services are scheduled to take place across the UK. Last year's concert witnessed the presence of the prince and princess, accompanied by their children and other royal family members.
This announcement follows the recent participation of the princess in Remembrance Day events in London over the weekend. In September, she shared the news of being cancer-free and outlined a phased approach to resuming her public royal duties. Last month, the princess and Prince William visited Southport in northwest England, where they met with families who had lost children in a tragic knife attack in July.
