The Princess of Wales was not always the self-assured royal beauty she is today having once been a shy teen at one of the most prestigious schools in the country.
Kate Middleton was a pupil at the £42,930 a year Malborough College before she secured her place at the Scottish university of St Andrews where she met her husband and future King, Prince William
However, her miserable teenage years are worlds apart from the confident Princess we know today, the Express reports.
Kate's former dorm mate Gemma Williamson described the future Queen as being "thin and pale" with "very little confidence" in her younger years.
Kate's house tutor Joan Gall added: "When she arrived she was very quiet. Coming into a big school like Marlborough was difficult, but she settled in quickly.
"It was like a big, happy family. We would do things like bake cakes and watch videos."
Malborough has also seen the likes of comedian Jack Whitehall, artist William Morris and Samantha Cameron, the wife of former Prime Minister David Cameron all attend the school.
During her time there, Kate was only caught behaving badly on one occasion after she threw up on the train home following one of her hockey teammates' all-night champagne and dance party according to the Daily Mail.
Despite her gorgeous looks and fashion choices in current times, Kate was over looked until she transformed returning to sixth form and all the boys "fancied her rotten" her pal Gemma claims.
Classmate Jack Whitehall was one of Kate's admirers and later confessed that the Princess was his first crush.
In an previous interview he joked about the attention she would receive saying: "I went to the same secondary school as Kate Middleton and she's someone they like to talk about.
"I've been sending them a letter each year saying maybe now it's time to put me in the school prospectus or on the walls. I feel like I'm their dirty little secret."
In her yearbook, Kate was described as the "person most likely to be loved by everybody".
Months later, she started as a student in the Scottish university in Fife where she met her soulmate, Prince William.
According to Kate, it took some time for the two to get to know each other.
During their engagement interview, the Princess recalled their first meeting saying: " "I think you said I actually went bright red when I met you and sort of scuttled off."
After that the couple became "very close friends" and moved in together with two other pals before they made their relationship official in 2002.
They later tied the knot in 2011 and now share three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
