Kate, the Princess of Wales, made her first public appearance on Sunday since announcing the completion of her chemotherapy treatment and her intention to resume some public duties. She was accompanied by her husband, Prince William, as they attended church with King Charles III and Queen Camilla near their royal Balmoral estate in Scotland.
The 42-year-old princess revealed on September 9 that she had finished her treatment, six months after disclosing that she was undergoing therapy for an undisclosed type of cancer. This announcement followed the news from Buckingham Palace that the king was also receiving treatment for cancer.
In a video updating her progress, Kate mentioned that her road to full recovery would be lengthy, and she planned to take it one day at a time. She expressed her intention to participate in limited engagements until the end of the year.
During her treatment period, Kate had mostly withdrawn from public duties, but she did make two appearances earlier this year. The first was during the king's birthday parade in June, known as Trooping the Colour, and the most recent one was at the men's final at Wimbledon in July, where she received a standing ovation.
