She's one of the few royals who has a personal Instagram account where she updates fans with snippets from her life.
So when Princess Eugenie announced earlier today that she was expecting her second child, it was no surprise she revealed the happy news on social media - by posting an adorable photo of son August kissing her baby bump.
As well as the modern Instagram post, the announcement was also accompanied by a traditional statement from Buckingham Palace.
However, when it came to the birth of their son August back in February 2021, in a break from tradition they shared the first photo of him on Instagram.
Along with the official statement via Buckingham Palace, they announced the arrival of their baby boy with a beautiful black and white photo.
Sharing a photo of the new royal baby on social media so early is a break from royal tradition - and one that is very fitting for the modern couple.
Eugenie, the late Queen's granddaughter, shared the snap on her feed with three blue hearts just 10 hours after the birth.
The cute snap showed both mum and dad holding the baby boy's hand, and was liked thousands of times.
Traditionally, new royal parents have introduced their babies to the world on the steps outside the hospital, posing for photos and the world's media.
While Princess Diana, Sarah Ferguson and the Princess of Wales followed the tradition, Meghan Markle did not and instead organised a photocall a few days later.
Instead, she and Prince Harry shared a text image on their Sussex Royal Instagram account - simply saying "It's a Boy".
Meanwhile, earlier today, Buckingham Palace said the royal family is "delighted” by Eugenie's announcement and that August is "very much” looking forward to becoming a big brother.
The happy news has brought joy to the Windsors in the wake of the late Queen’s death and amid difficult times following the publication of Prince Harry's controversial tell-all memoir.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer.
“The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother.”
Eugenie’s mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, shared her excitement on her own Instagram account, saying she is now in “Granny heaven”.
Posting a photo of “Augie” wearing a yellow raincoat and splashing in a puddle, the duchess wrote: “You will be sharing puddles, Augie! Superb news, Granny heaven… So deeply grateful.”
The baby will be born 13th in line to the throne and will be a plain Miss or Master.
He or she will be the first of the Queen’s great-grandchildren to be born since her death and will arrive in the King’s coronation year.
