Princess Diana’s tragic death will not be shown in the sixth and final season of “The Crown,” Netflix has confirmed.
The Princess of Wales was just 36 when she died as a result of a car crash in Paris in August 1997.
“S6 will not depict the crash, contrary to some reports,” a representative for the streamer confirmed to the Daily News Tuesday. “It will be scenes covering the lead-up to and (the) aftermath.”
The crash also killed the beloved royal’s partner Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul.
A “certain anxiety, a palpable sense of being slightly on the edge” was felt by the crew, which was “dreading” having to bring the tragedy to life for the screen, a production source told Deadline last week.
Though the collision itself was not intended to be filmed, the series will still “recreate the fateful moments” leading up to it, according to the outlet.
Diana and Fayed are portrayed in season 6 of the Emmy-winning series by Elizabeth Debicki and Khalid Abdalla, respectively.
“The Crown” — whose fifth season will hit Netflix on Nov. 9 — paused production last month in honor of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
