Prince William is heading stateside later this year to attend the second annual Earthshot Prize awards ceremony which is being held in Boston, Massachusetts. The 10-year project was launched by The Duke of Cambridge in 2021 and will see 50 finalists win £1 million each to scale their environmental solution so that it can have the greatest impact.
William announced that he had chosen Boston as the host city for this year and that the ceremony will be held in December at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum. The news of the US royal visit prompted many to question whether or not Prince William will travel to see his brother, Prince Harry, and his family in California.
But experts on ITV's Royal Rota podcast seem to think this is unlikely thanks to the enormous distance between the two states and the timing of Prince Harry's highly-anticipated memoir.
The two hosts of ITV's Royal Rota podcast, Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson, offered an insight into why they do not believe Princes William and Harry will meet in America.
The hosts said: "There was some talk on Twitter about this, 'while they're in America why don't they pop in and see Harry?' and I think someone said on Twitter that's like the equivalent of saying 'I'm doing a tour to Portugal and I'm going to visit someone in Finland' because the United States is such a big country.
"It is very unlikely that William is going to pop over to California while he's there as it will be much later in the year and after Harry's book."
There are many questions which remain over Prince Harry's memoir. While very little is known about it, a source previously told Page Six : "It’s juicy, that’s for sure."
Another insider revealed: "There is some content in there that should make his family nervous."

The book is being ghost-written by the Pulitzer prize-winning ghost-writer, JR Moehringer. The author's reputation has lead to many fears that Harry's new account will only serve to deepen the family divide.
Describing the author, historian and royal biographer Robert Lacey said: "He is a powerful and psychologically exploratory writer, so we can expect a powerful and psychologically exploratory book."
He added: "It makes me think there is no point in even speculating what skeletons he’s going to uncover because he is a skeleton exhumer. He is going to do the business".
Harry has only addressed his memoir when it was announced last year, he revealed that it will be “the high and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned … a first-hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful."
While an exact date for the book's publication is not yet known, the royal experts believed that the content would serve as another possible reason for Prince William not to make the trip from Boston to California.
The Duke of Cambridge's interest in protecting the environment has stemmed from the dedication shown by The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Edinburgh throughout their lives.
Jason Knauf, former CEO of The Royal Foundation said of the prince: "The challenge The Duke set himself was ‘What is the maximum positive personal contribution I can make in the next ten years in the fight against climate change?
"What am I going to do in the next decade that means I can look my children in the eye and say that I did my bit? Every aspect of the Prize bears the stamp of his contribution.”
Prince William later said: "The challenge facing our planet is immense. We were about to enter what scientists say is the most consequential decade in history. We have cleared too many trees, burnt too much fossil fuel, and produced too much waste. The damage we are doing is no longer incremental but exponential, and we are fast reaching a tipping point."
