Prince William inherits forgotten royal estate Charles bought for Kate - but they never moved in

Following the death of the Queen, Prince William inherited a sprawling country estate King Charles originally bought for his son to settle into family life.

The country estate in Herefordshire was acquired by the Duchy of Cornwall when William was still at university as Charles hoped his eldest son would start a family of his own in the home. However, William had other plans and development at Harewood End, which included rebuilding a grand mansion that was demolished by the SAS, soon halted.

As Gloucestershire Live reports, William has now inherited the lot as part of the £1bn Duchy of Cornwall estate - and could, if he chose, restart plans to build a grand country house on the land. The Duchy acquired the 900-acre run down estate in 2000, and a few years later work started on an ambitious £8-£9 million renovation of farmhouses, cottages and other agricultural buildings, writes the Mirror.
