Prince William befriends cheeky gran with 'no teeth' who left Kate in hysterics

A cheeky grandma left the new Prince and Princess of Wales in stitches during their visit to North Wales. Prince William and Princess Kate had been chatting to crowds waiting outside of Holyhead Lifeboat Station when they got talking with the mischievous grandmother, who greeted them by saying "bore da!", meaning "good morning" in Welsh.

As previously reported by North Wales Live, talk soon turned to the Royal couple's three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, with Prince William joking, "we’re looking for a babysitter." Keeping with the same spirit of fun, the gran replied "I would, but I’ve got no teeth", to which a clearly amused Prince William reassured her "that doesn't matter."

The woman, who even held hands with William and Kate during their chat, admitted she'd forgotten to bring their gift, explaining, “I’ve forgotten the Welsh cakes in the rush on the A55." She added, “I thought s***, the royals are coming to Holyhead."

The Prince and Princess of Wales eventually began moving slowly down the line to greet others who were eagerly waiting to see them. However, the unnamed woman wasn't done with their conversation just yet, calling them back to introduce them to her first grandson.

Enjoying her company, Prince William told the proud nan: "Do you know what, we’d have a lot of fun together. I can see a real budding friendship, (between) you and me."

Being completely comfortable with the royal couple, the woman even gave the next in line to the throne a playful push, clapping happily as he burst out laughing, before warmly clasping his hands around hers.

Beaming, the woman told the future King: "I love you, you’re just so real", adding, " Diana would be so proud."

Before heading off to greet others, Prince William said: "Lovely to meet you, we’ll chat again next time we’re up."

The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived in Wales for the first time this week since receiving their new titles. They will now be paying more regular visits to the country as part of their new roles, and it's expected they will return before Christmas.
