Before becoming husband and wife, Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly used code names for each other. According to excerpts from the book 'Catherine, The Princess of Wales,' the couple would often escape to various locations such as Highgrove, Sandringham, or a cottage on the Balmoral estate during their time as students at the University of St. Andrews in the early 2000s.
They would occasionally check into hotels using the names Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a reference to the action-comedy film 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Another alias used by William was 'Steve' when he first started college to blend in and be more inconspicuous.
