Prince William and Kate Middleton hold hands with their kids in Christmas card snap

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared the gorgeous family photo they've used used for their official Christmas card this year.

The adorable image shows the couple dressed down as they hold hands with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on a walk in Norfolk.

William, dressed in jeans, trainers and a navy shirt, features on the left side of the snap holding hands with eldest son George, nine, who also wears trainers, shorts and a sky blue polo shirt.

In the middle of the shot is Charlotte, aged seven, who flashes a toothy grin as she wears a denim-style playsuit and trainers and walks next to four-year-old Louis.

Louis wears a striped polo shirt and shorts as he clutches the hand of mum Kate, who looks stylish in blue skinny jeans, white trainers and a white blouse.

The photo was taken earlier this year in Norfolk by photographer Matt Porteous, who has snapped many pictures of William and Kate and their family in the past.

In a message, Kensington Palace said: "The Prince and Princess of Wales are delighted to share a new photograph of their family.

"The photograph, which features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year, was taken by the photographer Matt Porteous earlier this year and shows The Prince and Princess with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in Norfolk."

The snap is in contrast to last year's Christmas card, which showed the family relaxing on a private holiday in Jordan.

The location of last year's snap was especially poignant for Kate - she spent a small part of her childhood years in Jordan, where her dad Mike worked for British Airways.

Meanwhile, the Wales' 2020 Christmas card showed them all huddled together in casual clothes at Anmer Hall, their country home close to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The card comes as Kate prepares to host her second annual Christmas Carol Concert at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, where she will be joined by William, King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla and other members of the royal family.

The second part of Harry and Meghan's Netflix series drops on Thursday (Netflix)

It is dedicated to the late Queen, who died three months ago, but comes at a time of continued turmoil for the Windsors.

That's because earlier that day the royals will be bracing themselves for bombshells as the final three episodes of Harry and Meghan’s six-part docuseries drop on Netflix.

In a new trailer for part two of Harry & Meghan, Harry claims that people were "happy to lie” to protect his brother, William.

In the first three episodes released last Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex railed against their treatment by the Firm.

Harry signified an "unconscious bias” of racism at the heart of the institution while Meghan labelled William and Kate emotionless after she hugged them at their first meeting.

Harry also claimed the royals asked why Meghan should be "protected" from media speculation, alleging he was told it was something all royal women - including Princess Diana and Kate - have to go through.

While Meghan said she was left unprepared for royal life as she didn't know what a walkabout was and wore muted colours to blend in.
