Prince Louis dubbed a 'little icon' by King's Coronation viewers with Westminster Abbey antics

Millions around the world have tuned in to witness the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla - but the big day proved to be a little too much for one young royal.

Prince Louis had a front row seat for his grandfather's crowning in Westminster Abbey, sitting alongside his parents the Prince and Princess of Wales and his big sister Princess Charlotte. His older brother George played a key role in the ceremony itself, carrying King Charles' robe as one of the esteemed Pages of Honour.

But five-year-old Louis appeared to become a little distracted by the excitement of it all during the historic ceremony, at one point staring up at the Abbey ceiling and whispering to Charlotte as he pointed around the venue. The long day seemed to take its toll on the prince, who also let out a huge yawn as the King and Queen were crowned.

A fidgety Louis even disappeared completely for a stretch of the ceremony, as TV footage showed that he was no longer sitting in the front row after exchanging brief words with mum Kate. It's understood that plans were in place for the youngster to leave the two-hour service at some point.

The Prince returned for the national anthem at the end of the ceremony - but accidentally belted out 'God Save The Queen' at the end of the song, much to the delight of royal fans watching at home. Louis was regally dressed in a Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin Tunic with specially designed lace work embellishment to the collar, cuffs and fronts, made by bespoke Savile Row tailors Dege and Skinner.

Louis joined his parents and sister in a carriage for the procession back to Buckingham Palace following the Coronation ceremony, with both Louis and Charlotte seen turning around in their carriage seats to get a better view of crowds along the route. Louis pressed his face close to the glass and gave onlookers an enthusiastic wave.

Louis gained something of a cheeky reputation following his hilarious antics at the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year. He was seen letting out a howl and clapping his hands over his ears on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the Platinum Jubilee flypast as his 'Gan Gan' told him what was happening.

The now-fourth-in-line member to the throne was also spotted being bounced on the knee of his grandfather Charles during the Jubilee pageant and giving his mother Kate a kiss on the cheek and a cuddle. He stood on his chair, waved his hands in the air, wriggled around and stuck his finger in his ear during the show.
