Prince Harry "quite liked" hit Netflix show The Crown but had a clear "red line" about when it should end, his biographer has said.
The show, which charts the lives of the Royal Family, is due to return next month for a fifth season, which has sparked criticism due to its controversial storylines. I t will cover the period of the early 1990s and one fictional plot that has come under fire is that of a then Prince Charles hatching a plan to get his mother the Queen to abdicate. However, according to royal expert and author Angela Levin, Harry was one royal who actually watched and enjoyed the show - but she says he had clear thoughts on when it should come to a close.
Angela, who wrote a biography of Harry told The Sun : "As I sat opposite Prince Harry in Kensington Palace, he suddenly asked me: 'Are you watching The Crown?'
"The question, which came as I interviewed him for an upcoming book in 2017, took me by surprise.
"Harry seemed to quite like The Crown. He was a fan of the first two seasons but admitted he was starting to get a bit nervous.
"His 'red line' was clear: he wanted the show to end before the point his own life - and that of his brother, Prince William - would be shown on-screen."
However, it is not the first time Harry has been revealed to be a fan of the show.
Last year, he confessed he had watched the show - and says it is more accurate than people think.
During an interview with James Corden, he explained it is "loosely based on the truth."
He added: "They don't pretend to be news, it's fictional but it's loosely based on the truth.
"Of course, it's not strictly accurate, but loosely, it gives you a rough idea about what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.
"I am way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife or myself."
Since he and wife Meghan Markle quit as senior royals in 2020 and moved to the US, they have signed a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix to make content for them.
But many have urged Harry to cancel the deal over the way his relatives have been portrayed on The Crown.
Royal author, Robert Jobson, insisted viewers of The Crown believe the controversial - yet popular - royal drama is "fact".
And he has warned that the fifth series of the drama will cause "untold damage" to the new King and Queen Consort's reputation.
He wrote on Twitter : "How can Harry & Meghan carry on with this Netflix deal?
"There are many who believe this fiction is fact. It will cause untold damage to our King and Queen Consort around the world early in his reign.
"Are H & M really that hard up? Come of 'H' show some loyalty to your country."
