Prince Harry wants to ensure 'Queen is protected' as he discusses life with Meghan Markle in 'bombshell interview'

Britain's Prince Harry has said he wants to ensure the Queen is "protected" and that "she has the right people around her" in his latest 'bombshell interview'.

The Duke of Sussex told America's the Today Show that it felt great being back with his grandmother after he paid her a visit in recent days.

Harry is set to discuss a variety of topics, including life with his wife Meghan Markle, with Today Show anchor Hoda Kotb when the interview airs on Wednesday.

A preview clip from the two hour chat was released on Twitter on Tuesday evening, teasing what was ahead in the interview.

In the short clip, Harry told the host of his joy at being back in his grandmother's company and revelled in making her laugh.

"Being with her, it was great," he said.

"It was just so nice to see her … She’s on great form. She's always got a great sense of humour with me and I'm just making sure she's protected and got the right people around her."

The presenter went on to tell Harry how it's common knowledge he has a habit of making the Queen laugh and asked if he was able to again, as the Mirror UK reports.

With a smile on his face, he nodded as he responded: "Yes, I did. Both Meghan and I had tea with her and it was really nice to catch up with her."

It comes after an explosive interview in March last year when he and wife Meghan Markle shocked the world with a tell-all chat with Oprah Winfrey.

Any interview he has since done has seemingly struck fear into the royals over what he might say.

At the time, Meghan spoke honestly about her mental health and said she had suicidal thoughts during her time in the royal family.

Harry also claimed he felt "let down" by dad Prince Charles and said he was cut off financially by the family after moving stateside.
