Prince Harry appears to suggest that the "heir was jealous of the spare" in a bombshell interview for Good Morning America.
In an explosive new trailer, the Duke of Sussex makes yet another jab at his estranged brother Prince William after branding him his "arch-nemesis" in his memoir.
"Ultimately, I don't think that we can ever have peace in my family unless the truth is out there," he tells GMA host Michael Strahan.
"You refer to your beloved brother as an arch-nemesis - strong words," Michael says as he asks what Harry meant by that.
However, he then goes on to pointedly remark: "So the heir was jealous of the spare?"
Harry doesn't respond, but Harry looks pensive before the interviewer goes on to say: "Maybe it's a difficult question to ask and for you to answer..."
"I'm sure you're going to ask it anyway," Harry interjects.
"I'm going to ask it anyway," Michael smiles. "I have to."
After the trailer aired, his GMA co-stars asked what question he was asking.
"Can't tell you," he replied, remaining tight-lipped. "But I had to ask it!"
An extract from Prince Harry's book Spare was leaked by the Guardian - before the Sun found a copy on sale in a Spanish bookstore despite the tight pre-launch security.
In it, Harry claims he was physically attacked by his brother in a row and that it was him and the Princess of Wales who encouraged him to wear a Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party 2005.
Harry wrote: "William called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.
"I landed on the dog's bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."
Other revelations from the book include how the brothers' nicknames are Willy and Harold and how their father pleaded after the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral: "Please, boys. Don’t make my final years a misery.”
Harry claimed William had come to his cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace to discuss "the whole rolling catastrophe” of their relationship and struggles with the press, but was already “piping hot” when he entered.
William went on to call Meghan "difficult", "rude" and "abrasive", claims Harry - before allegedly saying he was trying to help and Harry replying: "Are you serious? Help me? Sorry – is that what you call this? Helping me?"
The duke said the comment further infuriated William who reportedly swore while stepping toward him - prompting Harry to move to the kitchen.
Harry writes that he gave his brother a glass of water and said: "Willy, I can’t speak to you when you're like this."
He then claimed William called him another name before he "came at me” with it all happening "very fast" before the alleged physical confrontation.
