Prince Harry spotted for first time since London trip as he cheers on military veterans at Warrior Games

Prince Harry has been seen chatting to spectators at a sporting event in the US for wounded military veterans.

It's the Duke's first public appearance in America since a whistle-stop trip to the UK last week.

Prince Harry joined spectators at the Warrior Games in San Diego, California, and chatted with the crowds who were observing the former service personnel on the pitch playing volleyball.

The Prince looked chilled as he posed with gold medal winners from the US Special Operations Command.

The Warrior Games hosts teams from across the US military to compete in various sporting events, including volleyball, swimming and archery.

The US Army Recovery Care Program posted an image of the royal on Twitter.

“When Prince Harry wants to sit with Team Army member Master Sgt Michael Haley and his parents at sitting volleyball! #WarriorGamesChallenge23 #ARCP #SanDiego.

“GOOOOO ARMY!!” they wrote.

After attending the Warrior Games in 2013, Harry was inspired to set up his own Invictus Games, which sees military veterans compete in multiple sports competitions.

The next Invictus Games will take place after summer in Dusseldorf. Its mission is to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

His appearance stateside comes a few days after he gave evidence against MGN at a court case in London last week.

It has also emerged that on his trip back to California from the capital, the Prince took advantage of some free marketing - gifting the flight attendant on board his flight a free copy of his controversial memoir, 'Spare'.

A gleeful Holden shared a picture of himself posing with a beaming Harry onboard the American Airlines flight on TikTok, and said in a second snap that he had found the book "in my luggage that a passenger gave to me".

Holden, who is a pilot and describes himself as a travel influencer, revealed how he had "just found this in my luggage that a passenger gave me".

He said Prince Harry was his "passenger prince". Harry is seen in the snap dressed casually in a simple black T-shirt and jeans.

The Duke is said to have landed in California on Thursday evening, having left the UK around lunchtime that day.

His book Spare sent shockwaves through the royal world when it was released in January.
