Prince Harry snubbed a dinner with his father Charles and brother William at Balmoral after Meghan was banned from joining the family on the day the Queen died, according to reports.
A source reportedly told the Sun that Harry had insisted his wife be there on September 8, the day the Queen passed away, but Charles called to say it was 'not appropriate'. The 'furious' Duke of Sussex then missed an RAF flight to Scotland with William and his uncles Andrew and Edward as he was 'rowing' with his family, the source added.
Harry arrived at Balmoral without his Meghan at around 8pm on the night. This was around an hour-and-a-half after Buckingham Palace announced that the 96-year-old monarch had died.
When he was driven into Balmoral 90 minutes later, he declined dinner at Birkhall, Charles’s home on the estate, with the new king, Queen Consort Camilla and William, the source said. Instead he mourned with with Edward and Sophie Wessex and Andrew, seven miles away at Balmoral Castle.
Prince Harry was then seen leaving the estate at around 8.15am the next morning. The source told the Sun: "Harry was so busy trying to get Meghan to Balmoral and rowing with his family that he missed the flight. Charles has an open invitation for Harry to dine with him whenever he is in the country.
"But Harry was so furious that he refused to eat with his father and brother. It was a massive snub.
"And he got out of Balmoral at the earliest opportunity to catch the first commercial flight back to London."
Despite the snub, William reportedly 'acted as peacemaker' and invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on a walk-about to meet crowds of well-wishers outside Windsor Castle to show 'unity' after their grandmother's death. The pair reportedly flew home to the California on Tuesday - 24 hours after the family laid the Queen to rest at her official state funeral.
