Prince Harry's 'bizarre language' as Palace 'still absolutely furious' with him

Prince Harry spoke with "bizarre language" about his and Meghan's recent return to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, a royal expert has said.

Speaking to Australian TV about the relationship between the Royal Family and the Sussexes, the Mirror's royal correspondent Russell Myers claimed the situation remained "very very frosty" months after the couple's bombshell interview with US TV host Oprah Winfrey.

Harry and Meghan complained about their treatment by certain family members during the interview - claiming one royal, unnamed, speculated about the colour of Archie's skin before he was born.

Weeks before their recent return to the UK - where they were joined by one-year-old daughter Lilibet, who met the Queen for the first time - Harry gave an interview to NBC Today.

Referring to the Duke of Sussex's interview, Russell Myers said: "Harry was giving an interview just a couple of weeks ago when he was at the Invictus Games.

"It was all, sort of, bizarre language, he was there to protect the Queen and these things are not going down too well.

"If it [their relationship] is to be repaired, then there needs to be a bit more water under the bridge".

However, Mirrorman Myers agreed with Australian TV Host Richard Wilkins on the Today Show who claimed they may be trying to "have their cake and eat it too".

Myers added: "If Harry's looking for some, sort of, piecemeal then he was a long way off that.

"The people I speak to, the Palace every day, who [are] obviously very very well connected with the top players, as it were.

"They are still absolutely furious".

Myers added: "You can't go on, you know, international television interview with Oprah Winfrey, complaining about your treatment with the family and then wanting to sit down with them when you're still giving interviews".

Separately, another expert has claimed instead of "mending fences", Harry and Meghan ran into a "brick wall" with some senior royals during their visit - as they will have wondered if "anything they say may end up as a chapter in Harry’s memoir, or on a future podcast".

Author Duncan Larcombe, known for his work Prince Harry : The Inside Story, has told how he believes the couple is now facing a real test that could impact their future with the family.

Writing for Closer Magazine, Larcombe said that Harry and Meghan are at risk of being "cut off" if they leak any private moments from the Jubilee, leaving them in a "last-chance saloon".

He told the publication: "The test really begins now for Harry and Meghan. They have come to the UK and to the Jubilee and really cemented themselves as royals again - which is great for their brand and something that Spotify, Netflix and Penguin will be eating up.

"But everything now depends on their behaviour moving forward. Clearly, an olive branch has been extended by the Royal Family here. But Harry and Meghan would ruin that if any private information about this weekend was spoken about to the press or revealed in a book.

"It’s last-chance saloon for them now. If anything from the weekend leaked, I imagine they will be totally cut off and that’ll be it."

Larcombe added that while this could be seen as "dangerous ground" for Harry and Meghan to be on, it's also an opportunity for them to take "a huge step in the right direction" and "prove they can be trusted".
