Prince Harry reveals emotional moment he 'delivered' Lilibet as Meghan gave birth

Prince Harry reportedly opens up about daughter Lilibet's birth in his new memoir Spare and says that he was the one who delivered the newborn.

Lilibet, who is now one, is Harry and wife Meghan Markle's second child and she was born at a hospital in California after they quit life in the UK.

In his new book, which has been leaked, he is said to open up on intimate details about his daughter's arrival into the world.

And reportedly claims that this was because he wanted to be the first face that the infant saw when she entered the world.

According to an extract from the book seen by Hello!, Harry bent down with a doctor and delivered Lilibet with his guidance.

He also reportedly shares an intimate moment between himself and Meghan after they returned home following their little girl's birth.

It is said that Meghan wrote down her deep feelings of love for Harry in a "poem-esque form", which she then gave to her husband to read.

Details from Harry's book emerged after a bookstore in Spain started selling the memoir five days early.

It is not due to be released until Tuesday (January 10) with Harry having several TV interviews lined up to promote it over the weekend.

Before this, few details have been revealed about Lilibet's birth - unlike the arrival of her older brother Archie, as Harry and Meghan were then both working royals.

However, when Archie arrived in May 2019, the couple broke from tradition and decided not to pose for the traditional 'hospital steps' royal photos.

However Harry gave a spontaneous interview outside Windsor Castle shortly after Archie was born, praising his wife.

He said: "I'm very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy.

"I haven't been at many births. This is definitely my first birth - it was amazing, absolutely incredible.

"I'm so incredibly proud of my wife.

"And as every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing."

After confirming that mother and baby were still doing well, he added:

"How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we're both absolutely thrilled.

"We're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it's been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.

"But this little thing is absolutely to-die-for so I'm absolutely over the moon.

"It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined."

In another break from royal tradition, the couple kept details around Archie's arrival top secret. The couple confirmed Archie's arrival with a simple post on their Sussex Royal Instagram account - which said "it's a boy!"

Meanwhile, other revelations that Harry includes in his book regarding his children are that he and Meghan announced their pregnancy news at Princess Eugenie's wedding in 2018.

He also reportedly says that while Meghan was in labour with Archie, Harry devoured a Nando's which had bene brought to hospital by his bodyguards.

Meanwhile he also reportedly opens up about Lilibet's first meeting with the Queen - and how during this meeting the late monarch was delighted at Archie's attempt at a royal bow.

This story is based off a translated version of Prince Harry ’s memoir Spare. Spare published by Penguin Random House will be available to buy in the UK on January 10.
