Prince Harry recalls his only thought when he first saw Meghan Markle on wedding day

Prince Harry has recounted the unforgettable moment when he saw his bride Meghan Markle walking down the aisle towards him at their royal wedding.

The couple had the eyes of the world on them and were the centre of a media frenzy as they celebrated their big day on May 19, 2018 in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the Mirror reports.

Despite the millions of onlookers, the pair only had eyes for one another as Prince Harry revealed in a Netflix documentary that it just felt like 'the two of us'. When asked what went through his head when he saw Meghan walk towards him, Harry says: "Look at me and look what I've got. Look what I've found."

He continued: "The world was watching us but when we were actually at the altar as far as I was concerned it was just the two of us."

Meghan added: "H and I are really, really good at finding each other in the chaos. It's not that the rest of it doesn't matter, but it feels temporary."

The couple invited their closest family and friends to the chapel along with members of the public to join them in their celebrations in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Among the famous faces at the ceremony were Hollywood star George Clooney and his lawyer wife Amal Clooney, US talk show host Oprah Winfrey, tennis champion Serena Williams and British actor Idris Elba. Meghan's former Suits co-stars were also present on the big day along with the Beckhams, singer James Blunt and former prime minister Sir John Mayor and his wife Dame Norma.

Harry was visibly emotional with a smile across his face as Meghan appeared at the far end of the chapel before she was walked up the aisle by then-Prince Charles.

The Duchess of Sussex wore an elegant and simple white gown designed by Clare Wright Keller for Givenchy with three quarter length sleeves and an open bateau neckline.

Her stunning veil was five metres long and made from silk tulle, with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads and organza. The bride was accompanied by a large group of page boys who helped carry the ends and multiple flower girls as Meghan walked to meet her husband-to-be at the altar.

Loved up Harry told her 'you look amazing' as the couple held hands and exchanged smiles while they tied the knot. After the official signing of the registers, Harry and Meghan sang the national anthem with their guests.

The couple paused briefly to bow and curtsey to the Queen before walking down the aisle. The new Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen beaming with joy as they left the historic church and shared an iconic kiss in front of cheering crowds who came to see their fairytale wedding.

Moments before, Meghan whispered 'do we kiss now?' to her new husband. The pair departed on an open-top carriage ride through the streets of Windsor where tens of thousands of well-wishers had descended on the town for the royal newlyweds.
