Prince Harry lost 'old friends without gaining any new ones' in US by airing fam drama

Prince Harry's upcoming book, Spare, appears to really be a 'tell-all' memoir as stories that have already come to light show it is full of embarrassing details, family drama, and information we're not sure we needed to know.

Every news outlet, whether it's print, digital, or broadcast, is full of stories about the Prince - sharing details of his personal life in excruciating detail.

Prince Harry gave up life as a Royal in the UK and made off to America with his family, and now resides in Los Angeles with his wife Meghan, and their two children Archie and Lilibet, so he doesn't need to worry about seeing his face all over the news stands here.

But now the tide may be turning in the US, and pundits have branded Prince Harry 'gauche' for airing family drama in the news, and in Australia, Meghan has been branded 'tone-deaf and entitled'.

What do you think about Harry and Meghan? Let us know in the comments...

Prince Harry's autobiography isn't set to be released in the UK until January 10 but excerpts from the book have leaked ahead of its release after it was accidentally sold early in Spain.

In one section, the prince details his painful experience with frostbite - which he said affected his ears, cheeks and 'todger' - following a 200-mile Arctic charity walk.

He also reportedly detailed a heated argument with his brother, Prince William, says The Sun, and explained how many 'baddies' he killed in Afghanistan, reports The Telegraph.

Prince William is said to be "furious" about the claims, according to Jack Royston, chief Royal Correspondent for Newsweek who appeared on Good Morning Britain, and it seems people reading the stories are starting to get a bit fed up too.

The new revelations come just weeks after the 'bombshell' Netflix documentary, Harry and Meghan, in the wake of which the BBC was forced to defend their 'excessive' coverage.

A spokesperson said they had "received complaints from people who feel our coverage of the Netflix series Harry and Meghan has been excessive" and they went on to describe their reporting as "impartial".

And the restlessness has continued to simmer, as today (Friday, January 6), angry punters rushed to complain as they watched BBC Breakfast presenters Naga Munchetty and Ben Thompson discuss the ongoing Prince Harry drama.

One viewer fumed: "Sick to the back teeth of hearing about Harry. What an utter embarrassment he has turned out to be. Is there no real news out there today?"

Another complained: "I'm already bored with this Royal soap opera."

But things aren't much better across the pond and it seems people have had enough over there, too.

CNN anchor Don Lemon spoke out about Prince Harry and branded him 'gauche', meaning he is behaving in a way that is offensive to other people, saying airing family drama is "just not done".

He said: "Everyone has a family. I have arguments with my family - am I going to put that out there for the whole world to see?

"I just don't understand why on Earth he would want to put that out there. I know he's selling a book but to me it's just... what is the word I'm looking for? It's just not done.

"What exactly is he achieving by airing family dirty laundry?"

Meanwhile, an article on the New York Post was titled " Prince Harry wrote a bitter revenge memoir, but he's only stabbed himself ", and the author, Dominic Green, wrote: "Spare us, spare them, and spare yourself, Harry."

He went on to say: "Harry has already rejected his homeland and attacked his people. He has slandered the House of Windsor as institutionally racist.

"He has, as his Netflix exposé showed, lost his old friends without gaining any new ones. Now he has attacked his father, Charles III, and his brother, Prince William, the future king. There can be no way back from this."

Meanwhile, Australia's News.com branded Meghan ' tone-deaf and entitled' following the Netflix doc.

Author Lexie Cartwright wrote: "Celebrity sob stories often attract controversy, as mere mortals find it hard to relate from the get-go.

"Throw in those problems being chronicled for lucrative television shows filmed from the compounds of multimillion-dollar mansions, and an attempt to garner understanding often turns into a bitter cocktail of tone-deafness and entitlement."

This story is based off a translated version of Prince Harry ’s memoir Spare. Spare published by Penguin Random House will be available to buy in the UK on January 10.
