Prince Harry has been 'intensely focused on studying Diana's final hours for book'

Prince Harry has been "intensely focused" on getting more information surrounding the death of his mother Princess Diana for his book, a source has claimed.

The autobiography is due out later this year with Harry promising it will be a "truthful and wholly accurate" account of his life. When the book was announced it sent a "tsunami of fear" through royal circles, although the content of the book is not yet known. Now a judicial source in Paris has claimed that Harry and his researchers have been seeking more information surrounding the car crash in the French capital that killed his mum.

The source told The Sun : "There have been approaches which suggest Prince Harry is intensely focused on getting more information about his mother's death.

"There are plenty of people in France who recall the night of the accident. It's only normal that Diana’s son should want to learn more about it for his book."

Diana died aged just 36 following the crash 25 years ago in August 1997. She was in the car with wealthy boyfriend Dodi Fayed, 42, driver Henri Paul, 41, and Mr Fayed's bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones, who was in the front passenger seat and the lone survivor.

Meanwhile, Harry has been working on his “intimate and heartfelt memoir" with the help of ghostwriter JR Moehringer – a Pulitzer Prize-winning author.

When announcing his book, he previously said: "I'm writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man, I have become.

"I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story - the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned - I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think."

Publisher Penguin Random House announced last year that Harry was writing a memoir that was due to come out this autumn and in it, he would be giving a “definitive account” of his life going from his early life to where he is today.

It immediately led to speculation that he would use the book to reveal more details that could be uncomfortable and embarrassing for the Royal Family.

It follows the way Harry has spoken regularly about his problems with the Royal Family, especially in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where he spoke of needing to break the cycle and bring up his children in a different environment.

But still, no date has been given for when it will be published.
