Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could 'pivot' and return to an 'easier' royal role, one royal commentator claimed.
Currently, the royal couple live in a Californian mansion with their two children, Archie and Lilibet having ditched royal life to and the UK.
As Meghan and Harry settle into a new life in the entertainment world, one royal commentator claimed they could grow tired of the constant need to seek out work.
Royal author Tina Brown believes the Duke and Duchess could then attempt to return into the royal fold, reports the Express.
The author of The Palace Papers told entertainment newsletter The Ankler: "I think the Sussexes are beginning to realise the mirage of ‘entertainment deals,’ which are wildly difficult to deliver on as everyone in Hollywood knows.
"It’s much, much easier to be a royal, which offers perennial Status without much requirement for Quo.
"Watch for the pivot in a year or two, when the Sussexes feel the calling to return to the UK to serve Harry’s country and rejoin the balcony lineup for which front-page coverage is assured.”
The couple currently do much of their work through the Archewell foundation, funding and delivering charity and humanitarian projects across the world.
Archewell, which gives a sweet nod to Megan and Harry's son Archie, was named after the Greek word 'arche'.
The charity's website gives definitions for the words 'arche' and 'well'.
It states: "Arche…Greek word meaning 'source of action'.
"Well… a plentiful source or supply; a place we go to dig deep."
Earlier this month, it was announced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be making a surprise visit to the UK in September.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will also visit Germany as part of their trip to support “several charities close to their hearts”, their spokesperson said.
The couple will travel to Manchester for the One Young World Summit, an event that brings together young leaders from more than 190 countries, on September 5.
The Duchess of Sussex is a counsellor for the organisation, alongside Justin Trudeau, Sir Richard Branson, and Jamie Oliver, among others.
They will then head to Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event, before returning to the UK for the WellChild Awards on September 8.
Their visit to the UK will be the first time they have been back in the country since the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in early June.
A spokesperson for the couple said: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.”
