Prince George will be carrying a ceremonial sword at the King's coronation in a role of protecting Charles.
The nine-year-old was with the Royal Family as they wished the public a Happy Easter from St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and many royal fans commented on how more confident and tall he had grown, having appeared to have inherited his parents’ height.
And although it is purely down to tradition, he will be equipped with a small ceremonial sword to defend the King from any potential threat from a marauder at the coronation.
While planning is still going ahead into the finer details of the coronation and completing the guest list, George already has his role as Page of Honour.
But he won’t be alone as there are expected to be a total of four Pages carrying the swords while dressed in red coats, white breeches and stockings.
The other three Pages are the King’s friends' children Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Nicholas Barclay and Ralph Tollemache with George the youngest.
It is set to be a very different outfit for George from his regular school uniform and fitting for his role as the second in line to the throne.
The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the Easter Mattins Service alongside their three children George, Charlotte and Louis - and people pointed to how much George had grown.
He looks to have inherited his parents' height, with his dad William, 40, standing at 6ft 3in while Kate, 41, is 5ft 9in, OK reports.
Taking to social media, fans expressed their shock at George's height, with one person writing: "George has gotten so tall!! All three have. But I can't believe he's going to be ten!!"
A second said: "Prince George is a tall, solid looking lad which is what the Spencers were! Definitely a similarity to Prince George! Diana’s brother & in particular her father."
"Prince George is going to be a tall man!" a third fan wrote. A fourth added: "Prince George is getting SO tall!! He's nine years old!"
George won’t be seeing his cousins Archie and Lilibet at the coronation, though, as Meghan is to remain in the US with them while Harry makes a short visit to the UK to be at the ceremony.
The King is reported to be disappointed that the while family will not be at the occasion.
A source told The Sun: “The King is happy that Harry, his son, who he calls his ‘darling boy’ will be at the Abbey.
"He wanted him there. It is sad, he is very disappointed that he won’t see Meghan or his grandchildren but understands the situation.”
The event falls on the same day as Archie’s fourth birthday, with Meghan staying in the US to look after him and their 22-month-old daughter, Lilibet.
