Prince Edward Island reports slight drop in COVID-19 hospitalizations

CHARLOTTETOWN — Prince Edward Island is reporting a one-patient drop in COVID-19 hospitalizations, for a total of 11.

Chief public health officer Dr. Heather Morrison said today there are six additional patients who were admitted for other reasons and who have tested positive for COVID-19.

There is one person being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care. 

The province is reporting 186 new infections today and 222 more recoveries from the disease.

Prince Edward Island has 1,824 active reported cases.  

Officials are monitoring outbreaks at seven long-term care facilities, while 19 early learning and childcare centres have reported cases or outbreaks.
