Prince Charles Cinema to play a Muppets Christmas Carol every day in December

The Prince Charles Cinema in central London - (PA Archive)

The Prince Charles Cinema in central London is to screen The Muppets Christmas Carol every day throughout December until Christmas Day.

The hit festive classic will be shown from December 1 until Christmas Eve, with evening screenings every weekday.

There will also be matinee screenings on Saturdays and Sundays, and on December 23 and 24, and many of the screenings will be sing-alongs.

The 89-minute film is a retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, starring Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge, alonside Frank Oz, Dave Goelz, Steve Whitmire, and Meredith Braun.

Sing-along performances will feature a pre-show segment by the Prince Charles’ own Father Christmas, who will prep audiences on what to do during the film.

“Costumes aren't mandatory, but 'tis the season, and we love seeing you dressed up in your favourite Christmas Jumpers!” said the cult favourite cinema, situated in the West End near Leicester Square, on its website.

“All this, and a few more surprises up our sleeves, makes this one of the must-see events this Christmas!”

It is part of the cinema’s Christmas line-up, which also features Citizen Kane, Goodfellas, and Tokyo Godfathers.
